Employability Skills for New Scots

As part of the Supporting New Scots Project funded through EU funds on behalf of the Scottish Government and delivered by the Scottish Refugee Council, this project will deliver a community-based approach to enhance the employability prospects of refugees by improving their language skills and understanding of Scottish/UK work culture in order to become more self-sufficient and to decrease the risk of poverty.

Employability up-skilling will address CV writing, using job search engine options and office software, understanding online communication platforms, facing job interviews. PVG memberships, food and hygiene certificates and barista trainings for those interested in the hospitality sector will be covered.

These events consist of 4-week courses offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 11:15 to 13:15, and a second group on Tuesday and Friday afternoons, 14:00 to 16:00. There is also one optional activity session for language conversation practice on Wednesdays, 11:15 to 13:15.

Candidates will have to register for one 4-week course. Please register separately for the conversation sessions.
