Understanding the 1+2 approach to language learning in Scotland

Information evening on the 14th of June (18:15-19:15) for parents regarding the Scottish government’s policy “1+2 approach to language learning”.

By 2020 every child is entitled to learn a first additional language from primary one and a second by primary five in order to give young people the best chances in a globalised world. This entitlement continues until the end of S3. The policy is currently being implemented in schools all over Scotland.

This information evening is for parents of children of school age to find out more about the policy and what it means for their child. We are delighted to have a represenative from SCILT (Scotland’s National Centre for Languages) to answer your questions on the matter.
